Q & A

Question:  Dear Master, I'd like to ask you something about my new experience. After one hour of practice, I perceived the flow of life itself ..... that contained all the energy of people practicing now and even people who have practiced in the past.....(.there was also a connection to Hua Xia Center....the Qi Field produced  by the large number of people......). ..... the entirety cannot disappear!  Friends that are sick and need help were coming into my consciousness and I perceived that they also entered this flow of Qi  Field and that they could benefit from it....

Can it be just my imagination or can this be something "real"?

In one of your past courses you mentioned that the Qi and the Energy are not the same. Could you please talk about this? Thank you.

Answer: I'm happy to say that the answer is...

When a qigong master organises a qi field and holds a group healing, such an imagination is a wonderful way to open your heart and merge completely with the qi field. You'll be amazed at how much you benefit from the qi field! As you continue to practise, you'll begin to feel the qi field in a more realistic way. You'll be able to feel it all the time, without any imagination.

As we talked about earlier, "qi" is a kind of invisible, formless thing that exists in our universe. Some qigong masters may use words like "pure energy" or "special energy" to help foreign practitioners understand qi more easily. But it's important to remember that "qi" is not "energy" in the traditional sense. In other words, qi (invisible and formless existence in the universe) is an unknown existence that needs to be discovered and recognised by modern science, which goes beyond the definition of "energy" in physics.

Question:  Can I Take Medication While Practicing Qigong? What If I’m Hesitant?

Answer:  Yes, you can. If you’re unsure, you should take it without hesitation.

The belief that “you must absolutely not take medicine while practicing Qigong” is a misunderstanding. Professor Pang Ming never made such a claim. If you are hesitant about whether to take medication, it simply means your confidence is still building. In that case, start from where you are and take the medication calmly. True practice never rejects effective help. There’s no need to struggle with this — it’s simply a pragmatic, scientific approach.

A Guide on the Relationship Between Zhineng Qigong and Modern Medicine

Key Insights

Here are three core insights from the guide:
  • ✨External medical support is helpful, but inner practice is fundamental. Think of medication like a crutch for a broken leg. It supports you until your legs are strong enough to walk independently.
  • Accepting medical help is not a failure in your practice — it is an act of compassion and wisdom toward yourself.
  • When your body needs help, accepting medical care is wisdom. When your inner strength is sufficient, focusing on practice is dedication.

Three Key Takeaways

   • Qigong and Medicine are not opposed. Western medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Qigong each have their strengths; they complement each other and jointly serve your health.

   • Confidence is the key to recovery. True confidence is open-minded and pragmatic — it does not reject any effective help.

   • Safety always comes first. For emergencies, seek professional medical treatment immediately. Respecting life is the ultimate wisdom.

Four Guiding Principles

   • Be Balanced: Neither blindly dependent on, nor blindly rejecting of medical aid.
   • Be Decisive: If you are unsure about taking medicine, take it without hesitation.
   • Be Cautious: Adjust medication only under a doctor's guidance. Never stop blindly.

   • Be Responsible: Life is supreme; safety is paramount.

A Core Metaphor

Think of medication as a crutch for a broken leg. It is not there to replace your legs, but to support you until your practice makes you strong enough to walk alone.  Accepting medical help is not a failure; it is the wisdom of taking responsibility for your life.

Important Reminders

   • Zhineng Qigong is not a magical shield that grants immunity from illness; rather, it empowers us with the agency to take charge of our own well-being. However, please remember that this agency is not given freely — it must be earned through consistent, dedicated, and sincere practice. To practice sporadically and half-heartedly, while expecting Qigong to act as a "silver bullet" for perfect health, is ultimately an unrealistic fantasy.

   • Dispelling Myths: The claim that "one must absolutely not take medicine while practicing Qigong" is incorrect and a misunderstanding of ZNQG Science.

   • Emergencies Require Immediate Hospital Care: In the face of the following situations, please seek professional Western medical emergency treatment immediately; do not delay:

        • Acute trauma, massive hemorrhage, severe injuries.
        • Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular emergencies (e.g., heart attack, stroke).
        • Severe infections, persistent high fever.

        • Any sudden condition that may endanger life.

When the body needs external support, accepting medical treatment is wisdom; when internal power emerges, actively practicing for regulation is diligence.
